Mama Patring cried too, but Papa Doro beamed his usual proud smile. Beside my mother, there I lied down, so fragile, so smooth, so sweet, so angelic, so me. " Rene, the tenth and my fifth little boy. thank God " my father whispered in gratitude.

Time flies so fast. Today is a crucial milestone in my life. Today I have lived half my life. Today I will start living the other half. My life is a mosaic- filled by various yet exquisite colors from childhood to parenthood, from schooldays to working days, from utter ignorance to a world full of adventure and lifelong search for knowledge.

Past are the days when I have to wonder how it feels to be drunk;
when I have to hop from one bar to another hoping I could fill the emptiness inside.
Past are the days when I have to ask myself whether I'd sire a son then get married or the other way around.
Past are the days when I wallowed myself into thinking I could have done better with my life had I taken up this course or read this book or done this, done that.

Now is the time to embrace life. EVery moment is a celebration- of joys, of sorrows. Two facets of life that make us feel we are alive. I look ahead but I relish every breath I take, every blink I make, every thought I think, every motion and emotion of life.

Today I am reborn.

With nary in my head and everything in my heart repulses to near convulsion I thought I could venture into my inner wilderness to while away my time. 6:30pm, it must be dark outside. 7:00pm seems like eternity to wait and an hour of Japanese lessons is taking its toll on my exhausted soul. Have to wait nevertheless and draw out every bit of energy of my being jsut to stay awake. If I could just shut my left eye while my right is doing me service, it would have been a lot different- at least giving me sharp unilateral sight.

My only consolation is that I'm rambling on this prose in half-wake-half-asleep fashion. Trying to gather my thoughts is no easy task even when i'm sober and focused- how much more when i'm dead tired.
